Cuplock is a modular scaffolding system assembled from coded vertical and horizontal components. Its regular grid makes it useful when a project needs repeated bays, multiple working levels or temporary support arranged around a defined plan. A complete solution is not selected from one component alone: standards, ledgers, transoms, bases, access components and project-specific accessories must work together as one engineered arrangement.
Vidaform’s verified catalogue currently contains 43 coded products in the Cuplok system category. This guide explains what the principal component groups do and what information should be prepared before requesting quantities. It does not provide a load design or replace a project-specific temporary-works assessment.
The main Cuplock component groups
Standards: the vertical members
Standards form the vertical lines of the scaffold or support grid. Vidaform catalogue codes include standards from VID-CUP-STD-0500 through VID-CUP-STD-3000, representing several nominal lengths within the product family.

Standards should not be selected by height alone. The complete arrangement must also account for the support condition, vertical extension, connection pattern, restraint, bracing and the loads defined by the project engineer.
Ledgers: the horizontal grid members
Ledgers connect vertical lines horizontally and establish the bay arrangement. Vidaform’s catalogue contains multiple Cuplok ledger codes, including standard ledger products and selected products identified as 3 mm ledger variants.

The ledger length affects the bay geometry, but a catalogue length is not itself a spacing recommendation. Bay dimensions must be checked against the intended duty, platform arrangement, access requirements and approved design.
Spigots, transoms and supporting accessories
The catalogue also includes the Circular Loose Spigot — VID-CUP-SPG, several intermediate transoms and additional components for particular arrangements.

Not every accessory is required in every scaffold. Components should be included only when they match the approved arrangement and intended function.
What information is needed before preparing quantities?
1. Overall geometry
Record the required length, width and height, including changes in level or irregular edges. A simple dimensioned sketch is more useful than a single total area.
2. Intended use
Identify whether the arrangement is for access, working platforms, temporary support or another defined purpose. Different uses create different engineering and safety requirements.
3. Bay and lift arrangement
The proposed bay lengths and vertical lift pattern determine which standards and ledgers may be relevant. These values must come from an approved plan, not from the catalogue alone.
4. Base and top conditions
Document the supporting surface, required adjustment and what the system supports at its upper end. Bases and heads should be selected as functional parts of the complete arrangement.
5. Access, edges and interfaces
Identify access positions, platform levels, building interfaces, obstructions and any locations where standard rectangular bays cannot be used.
